I remember, at 12 years of age, walking into a local taxidermy shop with my dad to pick up my first buck, and saying "This is what I want to do someday". Just two years later at age 14 I experimented with tanning a couple hides, which elevated to an interest in trying my first real taxidermy project. I did my first ever deer mount that year, a small forkhorn buck that I killed with my .243 while hunting with my dad. The rest is history.
I am self-taught and learned what I know just from books, videos, and trial-and-error. When I became more serious, I started competing with my work at the annual state taxidermy convention, which helped me improve every year and still continues to do so.
Besides taxidermy, I also enjoy the visual arts. I am a professional artist and do many commissions in black and white pencil. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil as a baby. I attended Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, PA, where I majored in Media, and graduated in June 2009.
I am very passionate for whitetail hunting, both archery and rifle. Weapons of choice: my Hoyt Kobalt and Remington 30-06 bolt action. I am not a trophy hunter by any means, I just enjoy getting out there and spending time in the woods with my family and friends, making memories, and filling my tag when the opportunity presents itself.
